Summary of institution

Our district is fortunate to have one of the country’s leading further education and training colleges right at the heart of its community with close links with hundreds of businesses and organisations throughout the region.

At LMC we have more than 50 years of experience in providing precisely the kind of courses and experiences our students want and our employers and universities require.

And we know that, as the job market goes through the kinds of changes we’re seeing today, so we must adapt and develop our services to make sure we maintain our proud record of matching our high quality offering to your specific needs.

It’s that philosophy that has seen LMC thrive and grow to the respected position it continues to hold – both in our local community and the country as a whole.

Students of all ages are happy to use as an excellent learning establishment and our employer partners speak highly of the way we help them assess their training needs before tailoring solutions to meet their specific requirements.

Our fabulous facilities are at the cutting edge of training provision and we continue to invest in additional features and improvements year after year. This gives our students the very best environment in which to work, as well as providing a rich source of activities and resources for our local community.

Our students also contribute to the community in a variety of ways through fundraising and their involvement in work-based learning, as well as the thousands of hours of vital volunteering work they undertake with a range of age groups throughout our area.

We’ve introduced exciting innovations like our new Enterprise Academy, helping our young entrepreneurs to shape the economic future of our district, and LMC Business which maintains an ongoing dialogue with local and regional employers in order to keep pace with their industry training needs.

And we’ve created a full prospectus of competitively priced and flexibly designed HNC and HND courses with lots of work-based training to improve job prospects and maybe lead to University degree courses.

Additionally, our state-of-the-art facilities, industry-experienced and motivated tutors and employer-led flexible learning programmes can help people add new professional qualifications to their CVs.
