As a top 10 UK university, Lancaster is highly committed to widening participation and we understand that some students face a number of barriers and obstacles when considering university.

We know that for many students who come from a non-traditional university background, even thinking about applying to university is a big step. We want to ensure that future applicants to Lancaster are not held back by any barriers and that our student cohort reflects the diverse society that we live in.

Lancaster is a thriving university. The campus itself has seen a remarkable renovation over the last decade and a half. We have invested over £450m since 2002, with significant benefits. We now have the most highly rated student accommodation in the country, retaining the accolade of ‘best University Halls’ for the sixth consecutive year, our sports centre is considered one of the best at any UK university, continuing our aim to offer a genuinely world-class and sustainable academic environment.

We are very much a global university, one with friends and colleagues all over the world. Over five thousand students are studying for Lancaster degrees at our partner institutions in Ghana, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, and China and we have strong links across America, Australia and throughout Europe. Lancaster graduates join a global community of over 100,000 alumni from over 100 countries.

We pride ourselves on providing excellent opportunities for our students, as such, 97% of Lancaster students progress into employment or further study within 6 months of graduating.
