Cumbira Lancashire

Families Event

We have been ‘popping up’ at events across Cumbria and Lancashire spreading the message about higher learning and the options paths open to young people.

We have had stands at agricultural shows, festivals and supermarkets with fun and interactive activities for young people as well as advice and information for their families about what options are available including BTECs, apprenticeships and degrees.

Young people have been finding out their strengths with our fun Buzz Quiz as well as the chance to try out a range of hands on activities to give them a taste of some potential careers.

Update & News

There will be plenty of fun activities when we pop up at UCLan’s In The City shop in the heart of Preston on the 25th October.

We will be there between 10 am and 4 pm with lots of advice and information about courses and support on offer across Cumbria and Lancashire.

There will also be a chance to check out some photographs taken by students as part of one of our other CLNCO projects.

Westmorland Show

Young people from rural communities had the chance to find out about some of the career paths available to them when we attended the Westmorland Show in September.

Information about a wide range of courses was available in the Learning for Life marquee where young visitors to the show had the chance to try a range of hands-on activities.

Lancashire Science Festival

We teamed up with colleagues from Lancashire LEP’s Skills Hub to support the City Deal stand at Lancashire Science Festival.

Not only did young people and their families take the Buzz Quiz which helped them to find their strengths and key skills they put some of those skills to the test to design, plan and build a Lego bridge across a river.
